There's a New Tweed in Town...
I'm doing a bit of Designing with a capital D. A capital D that also stands for DEADLINE. Personal knitting has been temporarily compromised. I'm swimming around in this, though, so I can't complain:

Rowan Scottish Tweed Chunky
Rowan Scottish Tweed Chunky in 'Lobster' (017)

What a red! I don't foresee myself becoming sick of having this wool between my fingers any time soon. Not that I have an excessive amount of time to work with it... but no matter.

It's freezing. Literally. Stay warm this weekend (Wool is recommended).

Comments:

Gorgeous red...I think that is my favourite shade. Not to worry, I'll be knitting up a storm this weekend when I'm not out holiday shopping.

The other day I went to the Gap to buy an ordinary wool sweater. They don't have wool sweaters! They have cotton with a bit of wool or cashmere mixed in. In Boston, where currently the wind chill is four degrees F.!

Speaking of being a tease, you don't even wanna share what it is you're knitting with your amazing red tweed? C'mon, throw us a bone, here...it's FRIDAY!

Just delicious.

It is chilly even farther south (NC) and I am planning on getting out the stash blanket - how else to stay warm while knitting?

Ooh, red tweedy yarn.... I'm currently awaiting red bamboo yarn from the same source. I can't wait to get my greedy little hands on it, even if it implies frantic knitting!

its gorgeous! and a nice weight too.
stay warm!

The wood looks like a small teak table I have. The red is very very nice.

Those Rowan Scottish yarns come in the most wonderful range of colours. I want to do something chunky in the blues and greens, but your red looks pretty good too.

That is about the nicest red I have ever seen - I cannot wait to see what you make with THAT!

How could you not love a yarn called "Lobster"? (I love that Lobster Pot Yarns has a colorway called "Drawn Butter". The very name starts the mouth a-watering.)

I have no doubt that you are going to do something utterly splendid with that red, red yarn.

Now that red tweediness is truly wooly nice. And you're forgetting about your Australian readers..it's high summer here.
But I'm still knitting with wool

(New commenter here.) I see in the comments for your photo that you have a design in the next SnB. How great! It always amuses me when I read through books/magazines that are compilations, and see the writer/designer's name or blog URL and think, "Heeeeey...I 'know' that person!"

Righteous red. Well, if you're knittin' under a deadline, at least you've got Rowan tweed to keep you company!

i feel your pain! although the design part is fun, the deadline it comes with - not so much!

That color is great - I'd like to knit anything with it. :) I can't wait to see what you're making.

We even needed wool here in Florida today - it was cold!

oh. that red. so gorgeous! can't wait to see what you're doing with it!

I just got some yarn in the mail yesterday Rowan Cashsoft (yum) for what sounds like the same deadline...luckily my design is quite small!

I am utterly in love with that red! I can't wait to see what you're doing with it!

BTW - I'm delurking.

Wow - I need that red in my stash. I have other reds to keep it company and everything. Can't wait to see the end product. Lydia

Yummy, yummy. Can't wait to see what you're Designing for your Deadline. :)

What a bee-yoo-tiful red! It's lovely. Have fun with the yarn, and good luck meeting your Deadline!

Best of luck with the D thing, but what a great color to be stranded with! We even need some wool in the deep south!

you have impecable taste in yarn.

My favorite color. I can't wait to see what you do with it!

Isn't tweedy red yarn so beautiful.....It doesn't have to be anything other than yarn for us to enjoy its glory. Good luck with your deadline!

Gorgeous red, and just right for winter. Cannot wait to what your making too.

This. is. beautiful.

You have great taste in yarns and design.

Rowan should hire you to promote this yarn! On websites where it is for sale, it looks nowhere near this lovely. Sweet!

Tweedy and red - two favorites. The depth of that red is just incredible!

Gorgeous! So, what is in the works?

When I look at either the yarn you work with, or your work, my addiction starts to act up. Good thing there are no yarn stores open this time of night. I'm taking a break from my own deadline, to wish you good designing. But don't be like me and OK (over knit). Take time to massage and rest your hands.

I was just perusing the knitting blogs and found you. Your work is immaculate, and I'll be de-lurking and stopping by to adore more often!
