onward and upward

thank you thank you to everyone for sharing your generous sentiments and flattering words concerning jarrett. i appreciate them all.

with the completion of a big project, i have that liberated feeling - the knitting landscape is again wide open. i am now free to wander about the cabin. raspy is one sleeve away from completion, and will be tended to semi-regularly over the next week. but i'm too caught up in starting something new. how can i resist when i have such beautiful things scattered about my apartment:

yorkshire tweeds. (dk and aran, respectively)
i've been thinking about Demi from 'Vintage Knits' (can't get enough) for some time now. and today, my first day of the long weekend, i casted on and indulged myself. enter the honeymoon stage. i've even thoroughly swatched (including washing!) - and i never do that.

swatching and coffee. never do one without the other.
its surprisingly non-humid(?) today, so i figured why not pick up the heavy wool and get to it? after charting out all of my cable-panel changes, everythings set to go.

enjoy the long weekend! i'll be here with tweed.

Ok I am soooo jealous...yet inspired to forge on, in the same moment....I am stuck doing this sweater for my partner...which is only about a week away from completion....and I have promised myself not to start anything until he's done.....but reading about your excitment makes me want to get through this one asap...and move on to the next.....here's hoping my fingers fly. Great swatches BTW....can't wait to see Demi (love that book).

OK, here I was debating with my little swatch and whining because I don't wanna wash it...thanks for making me feel guilty.

Jarrett looks beautiful, but I can't say anything I haven't said before. You rock!

Ooh love that pattern..I definately think I need to buy that book. There are so many lovely things in it. Your swatches look so neat and pretty - mine never look that nice. :)

I love demi. I can't wait to see what you do with it (is it for yourself or someone else? which yarn will you use? I know the pattern specifies aran but you have a dk there, too!) -- came by to look for an update but alas! ;)
