Socks

Why not indulge you sock knitters out there? I have two pairs on the needles. Sock knitting is alright I guess, I'm not obsessing over it, but its a fun way to bust through the sock yarn in my stash (all of which has been gifted to me in some way or another).

Check these out:

A pair of striped Elann Esprit socks for me.

The Seamless Hybrid is blocking .... I'm getting anxious for it to dry. I think it'll be at least another day or two though.

Oh, and thank you for all the Chi-town Tips. I checked out Loopy yesterday and am going to hit up a few more LYS's tomorrow.

  1. hey, yo! i actually went to tangled web out in oak park, and the shelves were pretty bare. they did have some various rowan yarns lying about (calmer, some other cottony ones). i can't really remember what else. (i actually managed to leave with only one ball of calmer. imagine!)

  5. Socks are always good portable projects. I like those striped socks. Two questions. What type of dpns are those and how do you like the Elann yarn?

  6. How do you like the Elann Esprit? The colors and price make it pretty tempting...

  7. Hey! I've been reading your blog for a while, you knit some great stuff.
I'm curious what size needles you're using and what gauge you're getting with the Elann Esprit. The gauge listed seems like it would be too open.

when you say k's bday socks, you wouldn't happen to refer to me? because that is one gorgeous yarn and, well, my bday is only a month or so away :D

  9. Beautiful socks! I like that Sundara color - what is the name of the colorway?

The striped socks are great also. Good color choices. Can't wait to see the reveal of the sweater once it's dry!

  10. Nice socks! How are you handling the yarn ends for the stripey ones? Are you carrying the yarn over or weaving in? Hope you're having fun in Chicago.

  11. The socks look great. I'm interested too on how you're dealing with the color change with the Elann yarn. Are you carrying the yarn?

  13. I have the same feeling about sock knitting, but I figure there must be something to it I'm missing, so I keep going at it... The color combination in Elann stripey socks is incredible - you've got a great sense for color!

  17. I was so hoping someone would make socks out of the Elann Esprit before I did. Now I know that I can use the extra from Sizzle to make some rockin' socks! Love the stripes, by the way.
